Kindle Availability: Kindle Still Sold Out!

Not any earth shattering news but Amazon Kindle is still sold out. That’s according to Amazon and Silicon Valley insider. I wonder if Kindle is becoming the next Wii now. I remember Wii was so hard to get for months, and it still probably is. But Wii is a gamer, and it is so encouraging to see Kindle, a readind device, be out for so long. Of course, it could be that Amazon really dropped the ball and didn’t make too many Kindles.

Amazon Kindle Availability Myth: One-Day Shipping Doesn’t Help!

I know a lot of Kindle fans get desperate and change their shipping method from 2-day shipping to 1-day shipping. Not to be the bearer of the bad news, but this does actually more harm than good. Technically, if you make this change, you should get your Kindle sooner than later. However, there have been incidences where people have been moved backed further down the line because of making changes to their orders. Besides, Amazon cannot process your order sooner than the others just because you have chosen 1 day shipping.  So save yourself some money for you will need it when you get you Kindle (with all the books available and all).

Kindle Delay News: Kindle Shipments Speeding Up

It seems people are now getting their Kindles in about 20 days. It seems people who ordered it before 1/25 have received their items in about 20 days. Of course, there are a few who will have to wait a bit longer due to Amazon reaching its cut off point, but I doubt anyone will have to wait more than a month to get a Kindle these days. Surely beats my 47 days of waiting.

Is Kindle Getting 10,000 eBooks A Day for Amazon?

It sure seems like it, if not more. Silicon Alley Insider reports that Amazon might be selling as little as 10,000 eBooks a day for its Kindle gadget. I personally know a few people who started ordering eBooks way before they even got their Amazon Kindles, so to be perfectly honest 10,000 eBooks is not really that surprising. Now we all know that Amazon would be selling more books if A) they had more Kindles available so people didn’t have to wait freaking a year to get their hands on them and B) Should more titles become available, Amazon will be selling even more ebooks, so 15K-20K sales a day is not really out of question for Amazon.

The Real Reason Behind Kindle’s Late Delivery

Amazon Kindle is one hot gadget that many don’t seem to get their hands on quickly enough. So why is it that the most wanted gadget around is out of stock indefinitely. There are two ways to explain this. Amazon obviously underestimated the demand for Amazon Kindle. In other words, they had a bunch of Kindles ready to go, but once they opened the gates, even people who were not looking at Kindle before were tempted to buy it due to all the hype and praise around the product. This is Amazon’s explanation of course. But even iPhone did not experience such long delays which shows that Amazon may have been a little bit slow in manufacturing new Kindles.

But the real reason behind Kindle’s late arrival is due to the early issues that some Kindle owners have experienced with their wireless connections and other features. I am hearing that Amazon staff members will give a higher priority to orders that have been returned for a replacement. So in essence, even if you are looking at a 5% defect ratio for Amazon Kindle, this could set people who are in line back by a week or two at least. But thankfully, Amazon is shipping items quite faster now, so if you haven’t bought your Kindle yet, you may want to do it now.
