Would you consider going back to paper books?
When I got my Kindle I thought it was the best thing ever. It had its glitches and challenges but the fact that I didn’t need to order paper books anymore (and pay the Amazon Prime fee) made me believe that once you switch to Kindle there is a good chance you’ll stay with Kindle. But to my surprise many of my friend and colleagues have gone back to books as they find putting notes on paper books and the whole experience of it hard to let go. So here is my question for today:
I recently bought a few books that weren’t available on Kindle (older sci-fi). I couldn’t believe how awful the quality of the paper and ink is when compared to the perfect uniformity of my Kindle!
I’m one of those people that considers it sacrilege to mark up a book. I usually want to resell or lend my books, anyway, and marking them up is never appreciated by the next person to read them.
I hear you. I always cringed when someone marked a book. I understand how it helps people but I have always hated it. I think with Kindle 2.0 (if it is in color) we can expect better highlighting capabilities. But I for one would never go back to paper books unless the book is a must read and it’s not available on the Kindle.
The only physical books I’m going to read are the few dozen I had before getting my kindle…but those will be spaced out over the years…
I can’t wait for the new Kindle though. I hope it’s as good as rumored so I can retire my old Kindle.
Got mine first day and have never regretted it
I still read a few paper books
because they are either graphic content
or not available yet
on the Kindle
I do read paper books too though only for books that are not on Kindle.
